La energía del mar incluye la energía mareomotriz que resulta de aprovechar las mareas, la energía undimotriz producida por el movimiento de las olas, la energía maremotérmica basada en el gradiente térmico oceánico (diferencia de temperatura entre las superficie del mar y las aguas profundas).
